Adaptive Concepts LLC started in 2017 in Troy, Michigan dedicated to the company mission to "Engineering Solutions for a Better Tomorrow" as a cornerstone of motivation for pushing through innovation boundaries. The company's new stretch technologies are showcased and developed in collaboration with US and Canadian Colleges and Universities. The collaborative environment provides the blend of skills required to stretch the innovative boundaries beyond state-of-art.
Meet The Company President
David W. Clark, P.E. is a Licensed Professional Engineer and the President of Adaptive Concepts LLC, an engineering innovation lab based in Troy, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a certified Expert Systems Engineering Professional and a lifetime member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honorary. Mr. Clark earned 6 U.S. patents and 11 international patents reflecting innovative project outcomes.
​Mr. Clark's early career includes employment at General Motors as a GM Scholar and Occupant Crash Protection Engineer; he subsequently joined Ford Motor Company working in a similar capacity while earning the Henry Ford Technology Award.

In his mid-career, Mr. Clark pivoted to the U.S. Army as a Survivability Engineer focusing on Soldier protection during underbody blast events. Commendations include a 4-star pin for the development of a life-saving blast mitigation seat; the award was presented jointly by the Honorable Heidi Shyu, U.S. Presidential Appointee and Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, and 4-Star General Dennis Via. Additional awards include 4 Achievement Medals for Civilian Service and a U.S. Patent (11,187,718 B2) for an innovative Shock Gage System.
